Details

  • Michelin Bib Mousse is a foam product that eliminates the use of conventional tubes. No pulled stems, no punctures, no pinched tubes and most of all no flats.
  • Estimated service life is 6 months after installation, depending upon severity of use.
  • Should be used in off-road conditions only, maximum speed is 80 mph. Not to exceed 20 miles on hard surfaces at top speeds.
  • Bib Mousse inserts simulate tire pressure rather than using air:
    -Pressure Equivalents:
-Standard (no letter) - 13 psi - Firmer feel, more durability.
    -"S" designation - 8.7 – 11.6 psi - Softer feel for better traction
    -"X" designation - 5.8 – 7.2 psi - Very soft, designed for extreme enduro / technical terrain

Installation Recommendations MICHELIN Bib Mousse

  • MICHELIN Bib Mousse are intended for Rally, Enduro and MX use.

  • MICHELIN Bib Mousse should not often be stored at temperatures over 86°F, and temperatures above 104°F should be avoided all together.

  • MICHELIN Bib Mousse are designed for off road competition use fitted to Michelin tires. The successful fitting and performance of MICHELIN Bib Mousse in tire brands other than Michelin cannot be guaranteed.

  • Not designed for use on the public highway (NHS). The maximum speed for a tire with a MICHELIN Bib Mousse fitted is 80mph (129 km/h).

  • The date of first use of the MICHELIN Bib Mousse should be no later than 18 months from manufacture.

  • The MICHELIN Bib Mousse should be used within 6 months of first fitting. However, the lifespan of MICHELIN Bib Mousse varies considerably depending on the intensity of usage and the discipline practised. For example, the durability will be much shorter for Motocross than for Enduro.

  • Before a fast stage, we recommend you to warm up the tire and the MICHELIN Bib Mousse progressively at a moderate speed.

  • Apply MICHELIN Bib Mousse gel every time you put on or take off a MICHELIN Bib Mousse, both new and used:

To avoid degradation due to excessive heat, distribute the gel inside the tire without putting it on the tire beads or the rim at the rate of ½ tube on the front MICHELIN Bib Mousse and 1 full tube on the rear MICHELIN Bib Mousse.

To limit the risk of punctures due to pinching in off-road use (motocross, enduro, rally...), use the gel with an inner tube, at the rate of ½ tube per tire.
